VMU Study Programme Ranked in Eastern Europe’s Top 20

VMU, Faculty of Economics and Management master degree programme Marketing and International Commerce has received international recognition: global university ranking Eduniversal has rated it among the top 20 marketing study programmes in Eastern Europe.

The ranking, which awarded the programme two palms, testifies the quality of the studies at VMU by measuring it in the following three main criteria:

  • The notoriety of the program: be known and recognized by recruiting companies and have an active approach towards them.
  • The salary of first employment after graduation: placement of the graduates in the best job positions on the market.
  • Student satisfaction: work on improving the programme by taking into account the feedback of the students.

The high position in the Eduniversal ranking confirms that the Marketing and International Commerce programme offers students some of the highest quality marketing studies in the region. Its graduates are highly qualified specialists who possess knowledge of the latest marketing theories and methods and are able to analyse market trends and changes independently, follow and evaluate scientific innovations, and apply the acquired knowledge in the development of organizational marketing management.

The programme also provides its students with the opportunity to pursue an international double degree. After one year of studies at VMU Faculty of Economics and Management, several students may continue their education at the Louvain School of Management of KU Leuven in Belgium.

Vytautas Magnus University have started to realise project “ Baltic-German network „International Finance”: development of study process and research excellence”

In January 2014 Vytautas Magnus University, University of Latvia, University of Siegen and Tartu University have started to realise project “ Baltic-German network „International Finance”: development of  study process and research excellence”  financed by the Baltic-German University Liaison Office.

 

The main aim of project is to improve the quality of education and research by creating the network “International Finance” for university teaching staff and researchers, to provide a unified and coordinated acquisition of study courses in all network-affiliated universities, to promote sharing of knowledge as well as increased student and teacher academic cooperation. This project of the Baltic-German University Liaison Office is supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with funds from the Foreign Office of the Federal Republic Germany.

Dr. R. Baltaduonis gives lectures on Experimental Economics to Master students

This week Master students of “International Economics” listen to an intensive course on Experimental Economics, which is taught by dr. Rimvydas Baltaduonis from Gettysburg College (USA).

Dr. Baltaduonis’ broad fields of specialty are energy economics, industrial organization, experimental economics, and market design. His current research is focused on deregulated electricity industry. At Gettysburg College, he teaches Industrial Organization & Public Policy, Energy Economics, and Experimental Economics. The National Science Foundation, the International Foundation for Research in Experimental Economics and the Australian Research Council have supported his research. Dr. Baltaduonis is also an Affiliate Researcher at the Resources, Energy and Environmental Markets Lab in the University of Sydney, Australia, and at El Centro Vernon Smith de Economia Experimental in Universidad Francisco Marroquin, Guatemala.
