Doctoral Studies

One of the most important activities of Vytautas Magnus University Faculty of Economics and Management is to train scientists who are able to independently perform research and development work and solve scientific problems.

For those who are attracted to in-depth scientific studies, research, and later research career, the Faculty of Economics and Management offers doctoral studies in economics and management. After the restoration of Vytautas Magnus University in 1989, doctoral studies began four years later. From 1993 to 2023, a total of over 80 doctoral dissertations were defended at the faculty. Although currently only a part of the doctoral graduates is needed to supplement the pedagogical and research staff of the university, the university perceives the training of doctoral students as its mission for Lithuanian science. University’s doctoral students deepen their theoretical and methodological knowledge in a specific field of science, conduct research, participate in international projects and internships abroad, give lectures and conduct seminars, and at the end of their studies defend their doctoral dissertation.
