About Faculty of Economics and Management

The Faculty of Economics and Management of Vytautas Magnus University is a business school recognised in Lithuania and internationally, educating individuals admired by society, desired by employers, and impossible to replace by artificial intelligence.
The Faculty is included in the top one thousand higher education institutions worldwide (EDUNIVERSAL) specialising in management and business administration. The Faculty of Economics and Management at Vytautas Magnus University is a liberal school that recognises and respects each student’s needs, interests, and goals. It is an excellent place for intelligent, enterprising young people with a tendency for self-expression and positive ambitions who seek professional excellence.
In 2024, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) marked the 35th anniversary of its restoration. It was also a jubilee year for the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM): at the end of the summer of 1989, after entrance examinations, the first 54 Bachelor’s degree students were admitted to the first year of the Faculty of Economics.

FEM IS SYNERGY WITH BUSINESS
In preparing specialists, the Faculty of Economics and Management closely cooperates with business organisations. Social partners share their best practices in lectures, formulate practical assignments and topics for final theses, establish scholarships, implement joint projects with students and Lithuanian and foreign companies, organise interesting and valuable internships, and continuously review and update study programmes in response to business needs.
FEM Activities
The Faculty organises studies at three levels – Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral.
Considerable attention is devoted to student internships. The successful careers of many Faculty graduates in various Lithuanian business organisations, foreign company representations, and public institutions testify that during their studies students acquire sufficiently universal and specialised knowledge enabling successful integration into the competitive business world.
Students of the Faculty of Economics and Management have broad opportunities to gain international experiencethrough study exchanges under the “Erasmus+ studies”, “Erasmus+ traineeships”, or Bilateral exchange programmes.
The organisation of studies at the Faculty is integrated with research in economics and management. International conferences are held annually, and scholarly articles are published in the Faculty’s periodical journal “Management of Organizations: Systematic Research”.
