Science Clusters
By bringing together research groups in priority research fields, developing research, and involving early-career researchers, three research clusters were established at the Faculty of Economics and Management in 2012: “Research in Marketing Management in the Contemporary Environment” (S-12-01), “Managerial Transformations for the Development of a Socially Sustainable Society and a Competitive State” (S-12-02), and “Research and Experiments on Socio-Economic, Political and Financial Stability and Advanced Economic Growth” (S-12-04).
They bring together academics and researchers of the Faculty of Economics and Management, as well as doctoral students. The research themes of the clusters were formulated taking into account the goals of the United Nations, European R&D priorities, Lithuania’s concept of research and experimental development and innovation (smart specialization), and VMU’s priority research directions. In conducting research important for societal development, the Faculty cooperates with Lithuanian and international research centers, universities, public institutions, business organizations, groups of scholars, and various social groups.
Research cluster “Research in Marketing Management in the Contemporary Environment” (S-12-01)
The aim of the research cluster “Research in Marketing Management in the Contemporary Environment” (S-12-01) is to develop marketing research that is significant for the social sciences and that also has applied value for organizations of various types and sizes. The main tasks of the cluster are to examine how changes in the environment of contemporary business and public-sector organizations affect marketing decisions; to analyze and compare the latest trends and methods in marketing management; and to explore marketing solutions that create the greatest value for organizations and society by emphasizing innovative technologies, customer engagement with machine-generated content, sustainable consumption, and by modelling and evaluating innovative content marketing and “green” marketing solutions.
Head of the cluster – Prof. Dr Lina Pilelienė

Research cluster “Research and Experiments on Socio-Economic, Political and Financial Stability and Advanced Economic Growth” (S-12-04)
The aim of the research cluster “Research and Experiments on Socio-Economic, Political and Financial Stability and Advanced Economic Growth” (S-12-04) is to develop research and conduct experiments that are significant for the social sciences, have theoretical and applied value, and take into account a dynamically changing environment. The cluster’s defining and unifying research theme is linked to the course and assessment of macro- and micro-level socio-economic and political processes in Lithuania and the European Union in the context of stability: identifying the regularities of these processes; assessing the factors that determine these regularities; evaluating the interaction of socio-economic and political factors for the development of an advanced economy; defining risk scenarios and criteria for process development; forecasting processes; identifying risk-minimization and stabilization measures; and identifying and substantiating structural and qualitative socio-economic and political innovations aimed at the development of an advanced and sustainable economy.
Head of the cluster – Prof. Dr Renata Legenzova
Dissemination of research results
The dissemination of research results produced by the clusters is carried out through academic publications, conferences, seminars, and other communication channels. In addition, the clusters’ research results are integrated into study programmes at all levels, enriching course content and ensuring its quality.
