Supplementary studies

If your undergraduate field is not closely related to the EVF graduate program you plan to choose, or if you have completed college-level (professional bachelor) studies, bridging studies are a required step before you can apply to VMU EVF Graduate Studies. This is a fast and clear path to cover missing academic foundations and transition smoothly into Graduate Studies.

Why is it worth it?

Practical and straightforward. You study exactly what you’re missing—with a clear pathway into your chosen master’s degree.
After completion, you become eligible to apply for VMU EVF Graduate Studies.
Accessible lecturers. A supportive, community-based study environment.

How does it work?

Study format. You attend undergraduate-level courses together with undergraduate students, following the semester timetable.
Mode and language. If the same course is offered on campus and online, you may choose the mode; courses may be available in Lithuanian or English.
Duration. Around 0.5–1 year, depending on how many courses you need to take in the autumn and/or spring semester and on their schedules.
Fee. 50% of the per-credit price of the course taken.
Final cost. Confirmed once an individual Bridging Studies plan is prepared.

Application and deadlines

Applications for admission to bridging studies are submitted online via epasirasymas.vdu.lt. Applicants must enter their personal details and upload copies of their diploma and diploma supplement. After evaluating the applicant’s academic achievements and the admission requirements for Graduate Studies, the university will contact the candidate directly and propose an individual Bridging Studies plan.

Deadlines for applications and contract signing are published on the VMU website.

Contracts are signed online.

Certificate of completion

After completing bridging studies, you receive an academic certificate listing the completed courses. If you do not complete the full bridging studies curriculum, you may still be admitted to Graduate Studies on the condition that the missing courses are completed during the first semester of Graduate Studies.

Bridging studies are not the same as leveling studies, and they do not award a university bachelor’s degree.

Fields considered closely related

Bridging studies may be required not only for college graduates, but also for university graduates whose undergraduate field is not considered closely related to the intended graduate program. The following undergraduate degrees are considered closely related:

For the Finance graduate program – bachelor’s degrees in accounting, economics, marketing, business, management, informatics, mathematics.
For the International Economics graduate program – bachelor’s degrees in economics, finance, accounting, marketing, business, management, informatics, mathematics, political science, sociology.
For the Marketing and International Commerce, Advertising Management, Strategic Management of Organizations, Marketing and Sales, Business and Entrepreneurship graduate programs – bachelor’s degrees in marketing, business, management, economics, finance, accounting, communication, political science, psychology, sociology, anthropology, public administration, journalism.
